Rev. Sean Heldsinger

Rev. Sean Heldsinger

  • Senior Pastor

Born in South Africa, Sean was called by Brighton Baptist Church in 2012 to be our Senior Pastor. He is married to Samantha and has two daughters, Ashleigh and Alexea.
Sean has a passion for mission and for people. He believes in making a difference in the lives of people: “ministering to real people in the real world”. Sean is currently undertaking his PhD at Whitley College, University of Melbourne.
He has a love of sport, and played rugby at a senior level in South Africa. Sean currently coaches rugby at Brighton Grammar.

TIM BROWN

TIM BROWN

  • Associate Pastor

Tim was born in the UK and came to Australia in 1974 with his wife and two children. He has been a committed Christian for most of his life.
After nearly forty years in IT, Tim took early retirement and became a Pastor at an Independent Church in North Balwyn in 2000.
He joined Brighton Baptist Church in 2011, and is involved in the Music Worship ministry which is one of his passions. Tim's other passion is to see people come to faith in Jesus, and live a life of commitment to God, filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
He enjoys flying aircraft on his computer in his spare time.

FRED WIESMAYR

FRED WIESMAYR

Fred is married to Janet, and has five children and eight grandchildren.
After studying part time at MBI and Whitley College, he became Pastor of the German Baptist Church and Clifton Hill Baptist Church.
Fred was the Founding Chairman of the New Settlers Baptist Association. He also studied Applied Chemistry and established his own industrial laboratory service company.
Fred and Janet built and ran “The Herberg” (Samaritan Inn) for people in crisis, in Croydon, now run by the Salvation Army. Fred came to Brighton Baptist Church in 2002.

Iva Iafeta

Iva Iafeta

  • Youth Pastor

Iva is responsible for Kids Church, Youth, and Young Adults Group. She is also involved in the bread ministry.
Iva works full time for a Swedish-based company for treating eating disorders. Originally from the USA, she has been in Melbourne since 2011.
Iva enjoys sports, working out, dining out, travelling, and being in the good company of others.

PETER DUBYNA

Peter is responsible for Shared Accommodation, and assists in Church maintenance. He has been a committed Christian for most of his life.
Peter is an engineer, having worked for GMH. He is married with four children and four grandchildren.
His interests are cars, driving, fishing, and camping.

MICHAEL EPSTEIN

MICHAEL EPSTEIN

  • Deacon

Michael Epstein is the Church Secretary. He is married, with two children and two grandchildren.
Michael became a committed Christian and later a member of the Church in 2010. He is a medical professional still working almost full time.
He enjoys painting, drawing, travel, and reading.

BRUCE MALINS

BRUCE MALINS

  • Deacon

Bruce is responsible for Property, and assists with the Brighton Baptist Kindergarten. Bruce was born in pre-communist China, of missionary parents.
He has held several senior management positions with multi-national companies and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Prior to moving into management, Bruce had a career in sport playing Australian Rules Football at a senior level.
He has a deep personal faith in his Lord, and a strong commitment in walking in obedience to his spiritual calling. Bruce is married with one daughter and one granddaughter.

GEOFF BEAUMONT

GEOFF BEAUMONT

Geoff Beaumont is responsible for coordinating Kids Hope and Mission. He is married with three children and four grandchildren. Prior to retirement he was involved in marketing and advertising, and he is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Marketing. His interests are sailing, his mudbrick property at Maldon, and gardening.

Rebecca Robinson

Rebecca Robinson

  • Deacon

Rebecca is the Church Treasurer, and is responsible for Music Worship. She is married, and works as a lecturer and researcher in the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University. Rebecca is currently undertaking theological studies part-time at Whitley College.
Rebecca has a passion for music, and enjoys singing and playing keyboard.
